Happy International Women's Day!

Fiz: One of my favourite beauty products is Pumpkin & Avocado Body Yoghurt. It is a fabulous balm for anyone’s skin but particular good for those of us who are noticing that our skin needs a bit of extra TLC. You can feel its restorative effects immediately. The body yoghurt is part of Ellie’s Range —a range of gorgeous lotions, shampoos, scrubs, soaps, etc. skilfully crafted by Ellie Jackson on her organic cattle property.

I got to know Ellie when her daughter and my son fell in love; and at their recent engagement party, I had the opportunity to visit her lab/factory surrounded by her garden and the paddocks beyond. It was fascinating to see the process of production and the care taken to ensure the highest quality control.

Ellie has posted about what she has learnt about pumpkin—a key ingredient in her body yoghurt.

The Great Pumpkin

I first learned about this fabulous ingredient back in the days when I spent most of my waking hours in the garden, not making soap & skin care products! For years I have been in the sun without a hat for long periods of time, though I have a skin type that never burned, the sun still had a huge effect. While attending a garden day I meet Helen West, from The Australian Pumpkin Seed Company, who told me enough about the oil for me to remember its importance when I became a soap maker.
All the nutrients in pumpkin seeds that make them a healthy, nutritious snack also make them a most important ingredient in skin care. So here we go I will share with you what I’ve learned.

Listened toAnne Karpf being interviewed about 'How to age'. What she said made a lot of sense. I am sending away for the book...
